Gamecenter: Indiana 91, Lafayette 66

Key Sequence: White came out with his fourth foul at 19:45, and Ratliff got his fourth and sat down at 15:34 with Lafayette trailing by 4. The Leopards stayed in it but could never take advantage and force a tie. Finally, with the score 63-60 and just under 7 minutes remaining, Errek Suhr hit a three-pointer and Roderick Wilmont added a trey of his own a few seconds later. Indiana had their biggest lead of the second half at 9 and would never let the Leopards back into the game.

Key sequence: Army held a slim 18-14 advantage with 8:52 left in the first half, when its defense clamped down on North Carolina A&T, holding the Aggies without a field goal atetmpt and allowing just one free throw the rest of the first half. Meanwhile, Jarell Brown was dominating offensively for the Cadets, scoring eight of their final 10 points of the half as Army opened up a 32-19 lead at intermission.

Gamecenter: Cal State-Northridge 74, Lehigh 68

Key Sequence: The Matadors led 57-55 when Jason Hill hit a three. Kyle Neptune missed a shot for Lehigh. Jonathan Heard missed a trey, got his own rebound, and missed another shot, but Terrell Jones got an offensive rebound and was fouled. He hit two free throws to make it a 7-point game. Marquis Hall made a layup, then Austen Powers missed a shot the other way but Jones again grabbed an offensive rebound, was fouled, and hit two free throws. Lehigh continually let the Madators off the hook with offensive boards and lost because of it.

After an up (4-2 on Friday) and down (0-4 on Saturday) weekend, the entire Patriot League has begun play. Anyone can have a good or bad game, so don’t read too much into results so far, but here is where the teams stand as of now.

GameCenter: Holy Cross 67, Fairfield 65 (OT)

Key Sequence: Holy Cross took a 20-6 lead with 9:10 left in the first half on a Kyle Cruze lay-up. From then until halftime, the Crusaders added just 5 points on 2-for-9 shooting and 5 turnovers. Holy Cross had all the momentum going their way, but by halftime their lead had evaporated to 25-19. This run set the stage for Fairfield to shoot their way back into the game in the second half.
