Keys to the Game
Key sequence Army held a slim 18-14 advantage with 8:52 left in the first half, when its defense clamped down on North Carolina A&T, holding the Aggies without a field goal atetmpt and allowing just one free throw the rest of the first half. Meanwhile, Jarell Brown was dominating offensively for the Cadets, scoring eight of their final 10 points of the half as Army opened up a 32-19 lead at intermission.
Key sign it was over The Aggies managed to cut the Cadet lead to nine points in the second half, but Army responded to build the lead back up to 62-47 with a minute left.
Key performance A foot injury once again forced Brown to come off the bench, but he was brilliant for the Cadets. The junior guard finished with 22 points — 19 in the first half — and five rebounds in 27 minutes. Brown shot 8 of 16 from the field and 6 of 11 from three-point range on the afternoon.
Key statistic North Carolina A&T’s 11-of-46 shooting — good for 23.9 percent. The Aggies couldn’t find their range from the outside, either, taking 30 three-pointers and connecting on just six of them.
Key coaching move Jim Crews looking down his bench and calling Brown’s name in the first half.

Notes
Led by Brown’s perimeter marksmanship, Army enjoyed a very good day from beyond the arc, hitting 10 of 21 (47.6 percent) of its three-point attempts.
Matt Bell had another strong performance for Army, totalling 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal in the game.
The Aggies made the trip to Columbia for the tournament without four players who stayed behind for academic reasons, including 2004-05 MEAC scoring champion Sean Booker.
Crews was able to find minutes for 15 different players on his roster, though only 10 played more than two minutes. All told, 11 different Cadets found their way into the scoring column.
The Black Knights return East to host Hartford on Saturday, November 18 in a 1:00 pm ET tip.
