DFW post Van Harp commits to Army

Rivals.com reports Billy Van Harp of North Crowley High School in Fort Worth, TX, has committed to Army for next season. At 6-9, 240 pounds, Van Harp has excellent size for a big man. The Rivals.com article says he chose West Point over interest from Cornell, Division II Tarleton State, and Division III UT-Dallas. Van Harp transferred to North Crowley this summer from Arlington Heights. He told Rivals.com that he would be entering the Academy directly, not spending at year at the USMA Prep School.

Key sequence: Navy hit its first six shots from the field, while Brown misfired on its first five, as the Midshipmen ran out to a 14-3 lead. Midshipmen Trey Stanton and Greg Sprink both showed their versatility in that stretch with a dunk and a three-pointer by each of them.

Key Sequence: With Bucknell leading 74-69 with only 2:25 left, Jason Vegotsky stripped Ishmael Smith. Vegotsky’s three-point attempt was off target, and Michael Drum was fouled on the rebound. Drum hit both to climb Wake Forest within three. McNaughton hit one of two at the other end, followed by another pair from Drum to pull within two. Then, with 58 seconds remaining, John Griffin fouled out when he made contact with Harvey Hale, who converted from the stripe to tie it at 75. Neither would score again in regulation, and the game would head to overtime.

Key Sequence: Marcus Harley hit a trey to narrow the deficit to 14-11 for the Leopards. Colin Falls responded with a three-pointer, and Kurz stole the ball to create a Jackson lay-up for the Irish. After a few turnovers back and forth, Jackson again ended up with the ball on fast break and layed it in to create a 10-point lead.

Gamecenter: American 97, Morgan State 84

Key Sequence: After American had opened a 13-point lead early in the first half, Morgan State brought it back close and trailed 38-31 with 5:24 left. Carr hit a three-pointers. Timus hit one of two free throws after a foul. Ingram then went to the line the next two possessions, hitting all four free throws. After a Coly jumpter cut it to 42-34, Ingram hit consecutive three-pointers to open up a 14-point lead.
