Key Sequence: With 3:17 left in the first half, Torey Thomas threw an alley-op to Simmons from the three-point line and Simmons finished the play with a strong two-handed dunk that bent the rim down. From that point on until the end of the half, Holy Cross went on a huge 10-1 run and took complete control over the game. This run put Holy Cross up by 9 points at the half, and the lead only grew from there.

Key Sequence: With 3:39 left in the first half, Holy Cross capped off a 14-5 run when Simmons grabbed a missed fast break lay-up and finished with a strong two-handed dunk. This made the lead 33-17 and essentially put the game out of reach.

Gamecenter: Holy Cross 64, Lehigh 53

Key Sequence: With 41 seconds left in the first half Lehigh completed a 7-0 run and brought the score down to 32-26. Although they were still down 6 points going into the half, it was this drive that made it a close ball game. This drive stopped this game from being a complete blowout.

Key Sequence: With 13:55 left in the second half, Simmons hit a three-pointer and extended Holy Cross’ run to 15-2. The crowd was fully into it after this play, and Holy Cross never looked back. Even though Navy started to find their way on offense after this, Holy Cross continued their strong offensive push.

Key Sequence: The Crusaders’ 7-2 run to start the second half pushed Holy Cross ahead by 11 points, their largest lead to that point. Thomas began the run with a long three and Tim Clifford pitched in with two baskets in the paint, while the vaunted Crusader defense held off Bucknell’s attempts at scoring.
