The story of the last week was Lehigh trying to step up with the Patriot League’s Big Two and getting beat by both Holy Cross and Bucknell. While the Mountain Hawks lick their wounds, this week it’s American who will run the gamut, facing Holy Cross, Lehigh, and early next week, Bucknell.

2007 Patriot League Halfway Awards

With every team in the league having played half of their conference schedule, now is a good time to begin looking at our Patriot League postseason awards. The goal of the Halfway Awards isn’t to prematurely give out awards, but to identify nominees for postseason awards and figure out who to focus on as the season plays out.

Key Sequence: A little over a minute into the game, with Army up 2-0, Abe Badmus hit a three for Bucknell. After Army missed a shot, McNaughton hit a lay-up, was fouled, and converted the free throw for a three-point play. Bucknell was off to the races, beginning an 18-2 run that would render the game over before it began.

Key Sequence: An Andre Hines basket with 14:39 left in the second half brought Lafayette within 1 point. After American missed a basket, the Leopards had a chance to take a lead, but Paul Cummins missed a three-pointer. On the other end of the court, Arvydas Eitutavicius nailed a three, and after Lafayette missed a shot, Eitutavicius hit another three, putting American up 7.
