Key Sequence: With the Eagles up 27-26, there was a media timeout with 3:48 to go in the first half. Coming out of the break, Strawberry hit two free throws. After Maryland’s defense caused a backcourt violation, Will Bowers got a lay-up for the Terps. American lost the ball their next three trips, due to a travel, offensive goaltending, and turnover. Each time, Maryland hit a basket. Finally the Eagles called timeout with 1:40 to go, now down by 10.

Not a ton of games to choose from during Christmas week, but this one is arguably the biggest game in the entire Patriot League non-conference schedule.

Gamecenter: George Mason 58, Holy Cross 46

Key Sequence: With 6:52 left in the second half, George Mason was having a difficult time stopping Holy Cross, who was in the midst of a 10-2 run. George Mason’s Dre Smith was then fouled while driving to the hoop on a fast break and made the lay-up. Although he went on to miss the free throw, Birdsong grabbed the offensive rebound and was also fouled; he went on to make both free throws. This stopped a great Holy Cross run.

Lehigh’s Mgebroff out 6-8 weeks

According to the Morning Call, Lehigh’s Jason Mgebroff will miss 6 to 8 weeks with a hairline fracture in his left leg.
