Gamecenter: Lafayette 75, Lehigh 71 (2OT)

Sunday, February 18th, 2007

Key Sequence: The opening 9 minutes of this game saw zero points from the Lafayette Leopards. Equally surprising, that they only allowed 11 points to a misfiring Lehigh offense. Lafayette went 0-for-13 during this span and was finally snapped by Andrew Brown on the foul line; their first field goal did not come until the 8:45 mark.

Key Sequence: Starting from 4:11 to go in the first half and lasting until the 11:18 mark in the second half, there was a total of 13 minutes in which Lafayette failed to score a field goal. Eleven straight misses were not as hurtful as would be expected for the Leopards; 7-for-10 free throw shooting meant they were able to keep pace, only finding themselves down 40-34 when the drought was over.

Gamecenter: Lafayette 76, Army 68

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

Key Sequence: Lafayette came out to open the game gunning. Their first 6 shots were three-pointers, connecting on 4 of them. This helped them jump on Army with an early 7-point lead with 14:44 go to in the half. The early outside game helped soften up the middle for Schmidt who worked hard down low all night to give Fran O’Hanlon the offensive balance that he’s been looking for all season.

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

Key Sequence: With 1:09 to go, Matt Betley got called for a controversial foul going for a loose ball to put Donald Brown on the line, and he sunk both shots. From there on out, the Leopards were forced to play the foul game, a game that Bucknell plays well.

Gamecenter: Holy Cross 84, Lafayette 74

Saturday, January 6th, 2007

Key Sequence: With Lafayette leading 24-18 early on, Holy Cross let their defense help them out by two consecutive steals by Simmons, and a couple inside lay-ins, the Crusaders took the lead for the first time going up 29-28, and eventually taking a 7-point lead into the locker room, and never trailing again in the game after going ahead.
