With Lehigh leading 37-21 at halftime, Cornell came out looking to cut into the league. But the Mountain Hawks increased their lead, claiming a 49-29 advantage on a Jason Mgebroff three-point play early in the second half.

The Big Red got as close as 14 points with just under four minutes left, but Lehigh had an answer every time Cornell scored, as the Mountain Hawks claimed their first win of the while while handing the Big Red its first defeat.

Lehigh’s Jose Olivero was the game’s leading scorer with 24 points, largely on the strength of 11-of-15 foul shooting. Olivero didn’t just score, however, as he grabbed six boards and dished out five assists against only one turnover in 27 minutes.

– Freshaman Louis Dale was the top point man for Cornell with 22 points — 20 of which came in the second half. Brian Kreefer also added 20 for the Big Red in defeat.
– Lehigh dominated the offensive glass, grabbing 12 of 29 rebounds (41.4 percent) at its end and outscoring Cornell 18-1 in second-chance points.
– In a relatively uptempo game (68 possessions), Cornell committed only 10 turnovers.
– Bryan White collected 14 boards for the Mountain Hawks.
