The Miami Hurricanes shot 51.5 percent from the field as they ran Lafayette off the court, spanking the Leopards 98-66. The Hurricanes shot 57.9 percent in the first period as they posted a 60-point half.

Miami used an early 12-0 run to take control of the game. From there, they steadily piled on; Lafayette never scored more than 4 consecutive points in the second half.

Jack McClinton scored 23 for the Canes and Brian Asbury added 19. The Leopards were led by Matt Betley, who scored 18 points, and Paul Cummins, who added 15 points on 5-of-6 three-point shooting off the bench.
