Yale already trailed 21-14, when Holy Cross put together an 11-3 run to end the first half. Pat Doherty’s jumper was followed by a three-pointer by Tim Clifford in transition to push the Crusaders’ advantage to double digits. Eric Flato answered with a three of his own, but Clifford got inside for a layup on the following possession. Following a Colin Cunningham bucket, Clifford gathered Kyle Cruze’s miss and laid it in with five ticks left before halftime, sending Holy Cross to the locker room with a commanding 32-17 lead.

Caleb Holmes’s three-point play at the 9:49 mark drew Yale within 16, but Holy Cross answered right back with a three-pointer by Cunningham.

With Matt Kyle sidelined for Yale, Clifford had a monster night. The senior big man poured in a game-high 23 points on 10-for-14 shooting, and added eight rebounds, four assists, and six blocks in 33 minutes. Two Clifford free throws pushed the lead back over 20, and Cunningham converted a pair at the line to make it 54-31 with just 6:38 remaining.

Holy Cross harassed Yale into 12-of-45 shooting (26.7 percent). The Bulldogs made just seven of their 29 attempts (24.1 percent) from inside the arc and were outscored 27-12 in the paint.

| Notes
– Eric Flato, Caleb Holmes, and Nick Holmes tied for high scoring honors for Yale at just eight points apiece. The trio committed 13 turnovers as a group.
– Cunningham registered a double-double for Holy Cross with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
– Turnovers were relatively even, with 18 for the Bulldogs and 15 for the Crusaders, but Holy Cross had a huge 21-6 edge in points off turnovers.
– Yale was without its leading scorer, Kyle, who sat out the game due to illness, while Holy Cross’s Alex Vander Baan was sidelined with an injury.
– The Bulldogs’ poor shooting continued even when they weren’t being guarded, as they went just 10 of 20 (50.0 percent) at the free throw line.
– Holy Cross will look to stay unbeaten when it takes on Dayton at the DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday, December 1, at 7:00 pm ET.
