Bucknell’s defense cracked down on the Towson Tigers, allowing them to shoot just 33.9 percent from the floor in a 71-57 win for the Bison. John Griffin scored a career-high 21 to lead Bucknell.

Towson led 17-11 with 10:28 remaining in the first half, but the Bison went on a 17-4 tear to claim a 28-21 lead less than 8 minutes later. Justin Castleberry hit 3 three-balls en route to 16 points, tying a career high. The Bison travel to Villanova Sunday evening for their next game.

In Bethlehem, Marquis Hall scored the final 5 points of the game to lead Lehigh to a 60-56 comeback win over St. Peter’s, the Hawks’ first win of the season. Hall had a game-high 16 points and tossed 5 assists, and Matt Szalachowski added 14 points.

Lehigh shot just 19-of-48 from the floor, but St. Peter’s did no better, hitting 21 of 59 field goals. St. Peter’s took a 56-55 lead when Wesley Jenkins hit a three-pointer with 1:01 remaining, but Hall responded with a jumper to give Lehigh the lead. St. Peter’s turned the ball over on each of their next two possessions, while Hall went 3-of-4 from the free throw line to seal the game. The Mountain Hawks head to St. Francis Saturday night as non-conference play continues.
