Bucknell advanced to the semifinals of the Patriot League tournament, crushing Navy 62-43. Donald Brown returned from injury with game highs of 15 points and 9 rebounds.
Brown, who shot 7-of-15 from the floor, was aided by Chris McNaughton’s 14 points and 8 rebounds. Kaleo Kina led Navy with 12 points; Navy’s normal high scorer Greg Sprink scored just 9 points. The Bison sprinted out to a 15-7 lead, but Navy scored 7 straight points to come within 1. However, Bucknell responded with a 16-0 run to take a 17-point lead into halftime. The second half was more of the same, with Bucknell expanding their lead as large as 27.
The Bison will host Army this Sunday in the semifinals. The Black Knights knocked off Lehigh 47-46 on the road tonight to advance in the tournament. Bucknell swept Army in league play this season.
