Lehigh avenged a road loss from January, taking it to Army 75-64 in Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks got big scoring outputs from Jose Olivero and Marquis Hall, who scored 30 and 20 respectively.

The game was one of runs. Lehigh started out with 11 straight points, before Army answered with a 14-5 run. Lehigh ran off another 7 unanswered points to up by 9, before Army cut the lead back to 4. Lehigh went back up by double digits early in the second half, then Army cut their deficit to 5 points 2 minutes later. Lehigh again pushed ahead by 12, before Army came back within 3 points. Lehigh finally claimed control for good with 6 minutes left.

Jarell Brown led Army with 23 points, but did it on 7-for-21 shooting from the floor. Matt Bell added 10 for the Knights. No other player for Lehigh scored double figures after Olivero and Hall, but Bryan White hit double figures rebounding, grabbing 12 boards.

 
Keys to the Game
Key sequence Lehigh came out gunning, taking an 11-0 lead on the back of Hall, who scored 6 of those points. The Knights made runs but could never come back from this opening deficit.
Key sign it was over Army’s last run came when they cut their deficit to 3 points with 8:31 left in the game. Lehigh responded with 6 unanswered points, capped by a three from Olivero, to create separation. The Hawks held Army at bay the rest of the way.
Key performance Olivero had a vintage game, posting 30 points on 6-of-11 shooting, 3 three-pointers, and 15-of-19 shooting from the foul line. He also pitched in 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.
Key statistic Lehigh did a great job of getting to the foul line, where they shot 26-of-37. The Hawks were able to continually get easy points at the line, while Army tired themselves out working for shots.
 
Notes
Army’s bench outscored Lehigh’s 46-7.
Kyle Neptune again came off the bench, getting 2 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds in 19 minutes. Matt Szalachowski started and scored 8 points in 27 minutes.
Lehigh outrebounded Army 35-30. Army had more offensive rebounds, 10 to 6, but both teams scored 8 second-chance points.
Both teams hit the road Wednesday. Lehigh goes north to Colgate, while Army heads south to American.
