Gamecenter: American 73, Saint Francis (PA) 63

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

Key Sequence: After American’s rally brought them within 1 point, Saint Francis responded with 4 quick points to make it 51-46. The Eagles hit two quick baskets to cut it to 1 again, while the Red Flash could do nothing but miss shots and throw the ball away. American took the lead on 2 free throws by Eitutavicius, before Ingram punctuated the run with a three-pointer to give American a 55-51 lead.

Gamecenter: Navy 52, NJIT 50 (OT)

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

NJIT then turned the ball over, and Navy held for the last shot but they too threw the ball away, with 8 seconds left. NJIT’s Kraig Peters took a potential game-winning shot with 1 second remaining but it was redirected by Stanton as the buzzer sounded, sending the game to overtime.

Gamecenter: Columbia 55, Lehigh 54

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Key sequence: Columbia trailed by three when Niko Scott was fouled, hitting both free throws to make it a one-point game with 1:56 remaining. Jose Olivero couldn’t connect on a three-pointer, but Lehigh was awarded the ball out of bounds. Following a missed Neptune jumper, Scott was called for traveling with 52 seconds left. The Mountain Hawks ran down the shot clock before Marquis Hall misfired and Columbia called timeout with 14.8 seconds left. Out of the timeout, Foley put up an airball from three, but Scott was there to grab the offensive board. Lehigh’s Phil Anderson was whistled for what Lehigh sports information termed a “questionable” foul just before the buzzer, sending Scott back to the line for two attempts.

Gamecenter: Army 58, Dartmouth 66

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Key sequence: After Army sliced what had once been a 15-point Dartmouth lead to 46-45 with 6:13 remaining, Leon Pattman hit a pair of free throws and followed an Army miss with a three-pointer from the right elbow. John Ball jumped high to steal the ensuing inbounds pass near midcourt, and then converted a drive-and-dish layup from Marlon Sanders. An Army miss, 1-for-2 free throw shooting by Sanders, another Army miss, and a rousing two-hand baseline jam by Alex Barnett off a Ball assist finished off a 10-0 run that made it 57-45 with 3:13 remaining.
